Off to the beach

I will return to my regular, kind of, scheduled, sort of, blogging when I return.

I will be away for a week...a whole week with fun in the sun and lots (LOTS) of alcohol.

Please leave a message after the beep.

BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP.

The needle moved

After a month of WW, I've finally seen the needle move on my scale. Yes my scale has a needle and no, I have not purchased a new one yet.

Right now it is saying 161 or 2..or maybe 3, really hard to tell with out bending down to see it and then messing it up all together. Yes, I know...take my fat ass to the store and buy a new one.

Of course I have a feeling this scale is wrong...and I probably weigh 171 or 2...or maybe 3. In which case, I'll be crushed and be forced in indulge in a large cookie dough blizzard. *sigh*

Ignorance is bliss, right?

Cookie Dough

Have I ever mentioned how much I love cookie dough? Seriously, love it. I used to make cookies, just to eat the dough. I would freeze it and save it for later, it was fabulous. Mixed with ice cream...orgasmic. I am fairly certain if you look closely, you can see little chunks of cookie dough and chocolate chips on my ass and thighs. You probably don't want to get that close though.

This love affair began as a child, every kid likes to lick the beaters while mom bakes cookies, it's the best part....and so it began. Until one day something tragic happened. I turned 23 and my metabolism came to a screeching halt. Suddenly all that cookie dough was showing up in places it hadn't before. We had to part ways and go to more of a long distance friends with benefits status. I would still indulge with the occasional blizzard or spoonful while baking but had to stay away for fear of having to be rolled to and from my car.

Today we stopped for ice cream after a meeting at Aiden's school. It was a little custard stand and Aiden got a twist cone dipped in chocolate. I, being the now responsible adult that I am, passed. I had exactly enough WW points left for 1 cup of my raspberry chocolate chunk ice cream at home. And man is that stuff good, so it was totally worth it. That is, until my long lost lover appeared inside a large paper cup. Rich vanilla soft serve swirled around chunks of dough and chocolate...real chocolate chips. Watching Jared eat that was like sweet torture. I couldn't help myself, I had to have a bite...just one, just a small taste of a long lost love. ahhh...heaven.

It all started with the stupid farmer

M: What did you do at school today?
A: Oh, nothing really.
M: Nothing? You had to do something
A: I played on the 'puter a little bit
M: Oh yea? Did you play the farm game?
A: Yea, everytime I play I pick that silly Farmer, it's so much fun.
M: Sounds like fun
A: The little boy in the spider man shirt, want to know what he said? *not stopping for me to answer* He said 'you always pick that stupid farmer'.
M: Oh
A: Yea, he did for real
M: Well we don't say stupid, that's not very nice
A: I know, that's a bad word
M: But you know not to call people stupid, right?
A: I know. You know what else is a bad word? Fuckin'
M: wha...wha..what???
A: Yep, Fuckin' is a really bad word
M: yes it is, and you do not say that word, ever.
A: I know, I was just telling you.
M: I know, you can tell me. Where did you hear that?
A: *looooooonng pause*...At grandma and grandpa's
M: Who said it over there? (shocked at this point that he didn't say daddy b/c, well, daddy isn't always so good at watching his mouth)
A: Gabriel, a long time ago.
M: REALLY? Gabe said that?
A: Yea, he said 'what is wrong with fuckin' people'. But he was like, 4 or something.
**Gabe just turned 6...nice**

Later

A: Mommy, do you know that teacher?
M: Your teacher, Mrs F?
A: NO, not MY teacher (he gets upset when we don't understand his story)
M: what teacher, sweetie?
A: The other teacher, you know...the other one.
M: I don't know what teacher, do you know her name?
A: no, I don't know her name *pause* I don't want to say fat, but ummm..well...
M: No Aiden, you don't ever call someone fat, that is very rude.
A: I know! She's the teacher with the sandal shoes.
M: *still having no clue* Oh, okay, yea I know her

Both of these conversations took place in the 7 minute car ride between school and Walmart. I still have no idea what he did at school today or what he ate for lunch. I did find out that his best buddy from preschool last year, doesn't want to play with him this year. Since it's not appropriate for me to smack a 5 year old for being mean to my little boy...I'll let them work it out. I'm sure they'll be friends again next week, but it's so hard to see my "baby" upset over something I have no control over :(

Speaking of little boys...we had a bit of a penile problem this evening...and not with the infant. Aiden kept playing with himself and after me telling him for the 10th time to get his hands out of his underwear he told me his pee pee hurt. He showed Jared and sure enough, it was red...like diaper rash red. Jared cleaned him up and put some "medicine" aka baby diaper rash cream on it. Hopefully it helps.

And, I've been up since 5:30am...I'm tired...need sleep, lots of sleep!

Today's food blog

I think I'm going to try blogging what I eat. Why? Because I know all of you care and are on pins and needles just waiting to hear about what deliciousness I came up with. Or really, I figure other WW girls might find it helpful.

Breakfast: 1/2 cup egg beaters (need to find something new, this is getting old) 1 pt
Lunch: Another subway veggie salad. This is not getting old, yet. 3 pts (they put more cheese then normal, so I'm adding an extra point for that)
Snack: Fiber One Oats and Chocolate bar 2 pts
Dinner: 2 cups whole wheat rotini with tomatoes, cucumbers and 2 tablespoons of Wishbone's Parmesan Romano vinaigrette YUMMY 7.5 pts with 2 FF turkey dogs dipped in honey bbq sauce. 2 pts

I have six points left...my Edy's Caramel Praline Crunch frozen yogurt is 5.5 pts for 1 cup! WOO HOO!!

**updated on 9/7 to add that I suck and have decided I am far too lazy to post a food blog. If I have any fun WW recipes to post, I will though :)**

Kickin' Ass!

I kicked weight watchers ASS today! Seriously.
Here was my day:

7:30 wake up, enjoy some what quiet time before baby wakes up
8:30 eat 1/2 cup egg beaters with salt, pepper, garlic powder and onion powder 1 point
9:00 hop in shower before baby wakes up
9:20 get out of shower to baby squawking
9:30 feed baby...get baby dressed...do dishes...play
11:15 take Aiden to school
11:42 drop Ian off at the YMCA Child Watch...a little nervously. I didn't quite trust that little old lady to be able to hold on to my squirmy almost 3 month old
12:00 Text Natalie b/c I am dying after only 12 mins on the bike. DYING.
12:13 I made it 23 mins, I'm done...plus I want to go see how Ian is doing
12:30 stop and get the BEST subway salad, sans meat. Seriously, veggies a little salt and pepper with FF Italian. So good! 2 points (I could have saved a point by skipping the cheese, but I got my ass to the gym, I deserved some shredded cheese damnit!)
I won't bore you with the rest...lets just say it involved me sending Aiden to his room for having yet another meltdown. Seriously, I love that child but he drives me freaking nuts! I wish we could go just one day without a freak out or me having to remind him to keep his attitude in check. UGH!!

Back to WW, I'll bitch about my 5 year old later. I was making broiled parmesan tilapia for dinner. Using my usual recipe it would have been 7 points just for the fish, not including side. OUCH! So, I altered the recipe for my piece, ditched the butter for spray butter, took out the mayo and only used a portion of the cheese. 4.5 points...plus 4 points for my rice and 0 for the broccoli.
Not too shabby and it tasted damn good.

Okay...so maybe when you don't eat crap all day and are actually hungry, anything will taste good...but whatever.

I treated myself to Ruggles Light ice cream...I still have 1.5 points left AND I didn't use my extra activity point.

TAKE THAT WEIGHT WATCHERS! Bring it on!

Speaking of kicking asses...Zumba starts on Tuesday. Yea, I'm pretty sure that is going to kick MY ass!!

Scrapbookers...check this out

The girls over at SITS are at it again. Seriously, these chicks rock.

Check out their latest give away.

And really, who wouldn't want a Cricut Expressions?!

A day of firsts

I went back to work today. It wasn't as bad as I thought...and I only called to check on Ian twice. I'd say that's pretty good. It was actually weird not to be able to call and check on Aiden. I kept wondering how he was doing. Today was his first early day. Daycare in the AM, then Kindergarten and then back to daycare. Luckily he likes both and he got to see some kids from last year.
As for me...I wouldn't call work fun, but it wasn't horrible. It was quiet and stress free, oh how I wish every day were like that. I wouldn't mind working if that were the case!

Another first...I wasn't too hungry today AND I managed to drink all the water I'm supposed to. You see, in a month of WW I haven't lost much and I was getting discouraged. Plus, I'm officially no longer nursing...which means I lost 10 points. So now I don't have those 'snack' points. I had egg beaters for breakfast, roasted chicken salad from subway for lunch (but man that the chicken teryaki the girl I work with had looked GOOD) and I had whole wheat pasta with tomatoes, cucumbers, a little dressing and salt and pepper for dinner. It was actually pretty tasty and I still have points for frozen yogurt. It's my reward for being so good all day.
So while I am discouraged...I'm sticking it out. Plus, Zumba starts next week!!

Sorry, this was a pretty boring blog, but that's my update.

Happy Birthday Natlie!

Just giving a shout out to my "22" year old friend, Natalie.
Okay, she's really 27 but some guy at the bar guessed 22...and then bought us shots, which we promptly accepted and then headed back over to where her boyfriend was standing.

It's her birthday today (well technically tomorrow, but I'll be at work and may not be able to blog...I know, the horror!)Everyone should go head over to her BLOG! and give her some comment love for her birthday. It's the nice thing to do.

Speaking of...a few things I learned about Miss Natlie (and yes, I forget the second a on purpose)
a. she gets a little bossy when she drinks, but we love her anyway
b. she tries to talk you in to nasty shots (no fried chicken or whatever that was)
c. she doesn't like oatmeal cookies with raisins
d. she has a small jaw and can't do a blow job....THE SHOT, jeez, get your mind out of the gutter, what kind of night do you think we were having?! Well, if you think it was the kind of night that involved a few moist sausage wallet shots, you would be correct!

Happy Birthday, Girl!!
