Par-Tay recap!

I was a very busy boy the past few days!

First, mommy made me go get my hair cut. It really wasn't bad but I wouldn't let her take pictures. Plus, I insisted on sitting on her lap while they did it.

Before and after

Mommy was busy doing something in the kitchen, I don't know what but there was a lot of noise and it smelled really good. I kept trying to sneak in for a peek and she kept telling me no and HOT. I'm not sure what that means but I think it's pretty funny when she says it.

She kept trying to distract me with things so she could get a picture, I was much more interested in playing, but she managed to get these

Grandma and Grandpa bought me this awesome swing, I could sit in here all day....but it makes me kind of sleepy

Mommy woke me up from my snooze for something called cake. Apparently this is something I'm actually allowed to eat...mommy gets upset when I try to eat paper, sticks and change.

After getting cleaned up, I was super smiley. Mommy thought I might fall back to sleep but after all that sugar, she was crazy! I wanted to play and open presents!!

I got a lot of really fun toys and some cute clothes. I have to say, I'm going to be one well dressed kid this summer! I really just liked that tissue paper though!

And apparently no birthday is complete without a bow on the head!

Mommy really likes the colors in these pictures, so she says I have to post them. Again, I had no interest in actually looking at her camera.

Working out and all that fun stuff

Nothing like a high school reunion to light a fire under your ass on the whole getting in shape thing. Yep. 10 years since I was a size 4 without a care in the world. *sigh*

In case you didn't know, I love sleep...like really love sleep. Especially in the morning, I like it when Handsome Hubby gets out of bed and I get the whole bed for that extra hour. It's glorious. So why on earth I would decide to get up at the butt crack of dawn (or 5:30am) to get to the gym before he leaves for work, I don't know. I'm convinced aliens have temporarily taken hold of my common sense.

Regardless, I'm trying to do this 3 times a week...today was day 2 of this week.

I'm tired...really tired. Oh and I can't have coffee b/c I started WW (no, not wordless wednesday, weight watchers). UGH. What was I thinking starting both on the same day?! I could really go for a Starbucks right now! I know exercise is supposed to give you energy, but I think the ridiculously early wake up call negates all of that. UGH.

Ian's Story.

One year ago today, I was posting THIS.

I have no idea where the time went. On the one hand it seems like it was yesterday and on the other hand, it feels like he's always been a part of our lives. It's already hard to remember a time when I wasn't juggling 2 kids and a husband.

Still with the sickly eyes on his actual birthday:

mmmm, cupcake!

I'm fairly certain I broke a bloggy rule

You see, I'm sitting here avoiding my children like a good mommy, don't lie, you know that is what you are doing right now too. Embrace it. Anyway, I was checking out my blog roll, doing a little catch up and I read one of my faves, My Kids Might Be Martians. She was accepting some bloggy friend love when I realized that I had posted this cool little award in my side bar but never formally accepted it, bad bad blogger that I am.

You see Sara over at Ordinary and Awesome gave me a superstar blogger award. I'm not sure I'd call myself a superstar, I'm still one of the little people in the bloggy world...but hey, I like my little pond. I'm pretty comfy here. So, go visit Sara (she's also the one responsible for my kick ass layout) and show her some love too.

True Story

HH: Why are your toys out here, no matter how many times I tell you, your toys end up in here
**said while T1 is at the top of the stairs for the 10th time since being tucked in**
T1: Don't...
**too late, HH tossed said toy in to the play room**
T1: I just told you not to throw that toy and you did it anyway. Why did you do that?
HH: You know a good way to avoid that?
T1: completely ignoring HH You just threw that toy. I'm going to take that Wii away if you can't listen
HH: Good night **going back to his Wii golf game**
T1: Daddy, I'm serious. If you can't just listen to me, I'm going to take that Wii and give it to some other daddy.
HH: Oh yea?
**yes, he is very mature...and wonders where T1 gets it**

My baby is ONE

Now, if you are looking for the sappy blog with past and present pictures...you may want to come back another day (most likely tomorrow).

Today...I'm stressed and bitter and just damn cranky.

He's one...first, HOW IN THE HELL DID THAT HAPPEN?!

Second...he's sick! He's had a fever for days and the Dr. says it's a virus. So guess what? No quick fix for that, just have to wait and keep the fever down. Fun times. He's been relatively happy, until today. Today he's a mega crab-ass.

I've spent months planning his party. It was at a park, I made the banner, I found Martha's monkey cake, I borrowed all kinds of cake tools (thank you Karol) to make it, I bought 10 bananas to use as decorations, I have 4 different cake mixes for cupcakes...but alas, none of that does me any good b/c there will be no party tomorrow.

Most people I've told are okay with this...who wants to go to a party and see a sick kid with bags under his eyes even though he's been sleeping 18 hours a day?! NOT ME! There are, however, a few people who are being pissy about us deciding to reschedule our childs birthday party. Well you know what? SUCK IT! He's not your kid, you don't have to deal with him when he melts in to a crying sugar overloaded mess b/c you will be at home by the time that happens.

I'm not bitter about rescheduling, I think this is best for everyone...mostly T2 and definitely ME. I am bitter that we can't have it at the park now b/c it's booked all summer, but hey, now we can have beer. :) See, there's always a silver lining...

Move over Martha!

Bakerella is going to give you a run for your money!!

I don't remember who posted a link to her blog...I randomly click through blogs and then bookmark them. I came across this recipe for Cake Pops and thought to myself 'huh, I don't have nearly enough things on my to-do list for T2's party, I MUST try these'

So, tonight I conducted my trial run...and while hers came out a bit more cakey then mine, they're delicious!!! (although for the real thing I'm doing chocolate cake with blue/yellow candy coating and then white cake dyed blue with milk chocolate coating)

Now, if I can just attempt Martha's Monkey cake...maybe tomorrow. :)

I've been very quiet

I don't have a good excuse, really.

I just haven't had anything all that interesting to say...and well...I figure you don't really want to hear about the boring day to day stuff.

How about some non sense from Thing 1.

Today at the park he was playing with some other boys, he jumped up and looked like he was growling and ripping his shirt off. I asked him if he was the hulk and he said "yes". With air quotes. My six year old gave me air quotes. HUH?

I was babysitting for Mrs. Incredible on Friday. Our boys generally get along great, but like all boys they end up in some kind of conflict. At one point in the afternoon T1 was sitting on my parents glider and when O came over to sit/lay on him I hear *sigh* "I need some alone time. Just leave me alone" I told you he was dramatic like a 13 year old girl.

The baby has a new trick. He climbs up in to the chair and the slides off, head first. Yea, it's fun...for him anyway.

I don't have to say anything!

Because, it's:

I got nothin'

I've been trying to think of something funny to blog about.
Yea, nothing.

I've been trying to think of something serious to blog about.
Yea, nothing.

I thought maybe I could come up with some stories about T1 or T2.
Yea, nothing.
Well, there are stories...lots of stories...I'm just too lazy to write about them or possibly too embarrassed or maybe I'm worried that if you knew how out of control my kids are, especially the big one, you might send CPS out after me.

So yea, I'm sorry that you came over here expecting something worthwhile and instead you get this.

Nothing.

Maybe tomorrow I'll have something, but no promises.
